Location of cottage Sokolík offers many opportunities for summer and winter sports, hiking, fishing Liptovská Mara, rest and relax.

Thermal park Bešeňová

Thermal Park Bešeňová is located 13 km from the accommodation. The water complex is open all year round thanks to geothermal springs that keep the temperature in pools 26 to 39 ° C.
  There are 8 outdoor pools with thermal water and 5 external anticorrosive pools with clear heated water (not open during winter season).
Inside pools consist of sciatic pool, large swimming pool, children's pool and patio with stainless outdoor whirlpool, which is open all year round.  Your children will enjoy slides, water slides and various water attractions (water jets, fountains, underwater massage beds, and many others ...).
You can also visit enjoyable Vital world, offering various forms of relaxation such as massages, herbal, salt and menthol inhalation, Finnish sauna and various forms of specialty spas that will benefit your body and soul. Opening hours of the area are from 10 AM to 10 PM.

Water Park Tatralandia

The largest Slovak water park is located just 1.5 km from the accommodation. Tatralandia offers many attractions, not just for children. In addition, 14 water slides and 30 pools (9 pools year-round and 9-season slides) Tatralandia offers relaxation for adults. You can find a wellness center and sauna. You can choose from a wide range of massages, wraps and regeneration baths in wellness center,. The Sauna World consists of 17 steam, water and massage baths.

Hiking in Liptov

Demanovska caves

Demanovske caves belong to the most beautiful natural sights in Slovakia. The most famous and visited caves are ice cave, which will charm you with permanent ice formations and Demänovská Cave of Liberty, which is one of the largest caves in Slovakia. It offers 8 km of natural phenomena such as stalactites, stalagmites and stalagnates, which were formed hundreds of years to offer you an unforgettable visual experience. In the cave you will be accompanied by underground river Demänovka, thanks to which originated limestone caves in mountains and river flows also to an underground cave lake that has a length of 52 meters. Water dam Liprovská Mara

Lake is only 300 meters far from the accommodation and it is one of the largest water reservoir in Slovakia. It offers a wide range of entertainment and relaxation. In summer, it is used for a variety of water sports like windsurfing, water bicycles for cycling, rowing, but also ride on the scooter. In the hot summer period the temperature reaches a around 23 ° C making it suitable for swimming and diving. You can also relax while fishing. Gothic church is often visited place, which remained as the only above the water after flooding of the old village Liptovská Mara. During the summer you can take the scenic boat ride on the lake.

Kvačianska valley

Kvacianska valley, located only 7.5 km from the accommodation, is perfect for less-demanding hike. At the entrance to the valley every visitor gets a small map with plotted nature trail and marked interest like cross gorge, spring, Jánošíkova head, Oblazy, etc.. After short time you will see a rock, which bears a striking resemblance to Janosik. Approximately half of the tour takes you to a wooden mill, which is still inhabited and you can find domestic animals, buy a souvenir, sit and relax. Near the mill is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by nature.

Prosiecka valley

Just 7 km from the accommodation is situated village Prosiek, from which you enter into the beautiful and untouched nature to the Prosiecka valley. This valley is perfect for demanding mid-tour, during which you can admire the beauty of Liptov. At the beginning you can find two high rocky walls standing opposite each other - called the gate. During the tour you will admire a 15 meter waterfall. The whole valley will be accompanied by ploping creek. The actual route will please fans of the chains, ropes ,various benches, bridges and ladders. Although the hike in the valley Prosiecka is suitable only for older children. At the end of the tour you will come to a beautiful bow Svorad, where you can relax at the sight of meadows and forests.

Sights in Liptov

Celtic museum Havránok

Celtic museum Havránok is the oldest archaeological find in Liptov. This settlement was built, when the Celts lived in this area, which dates back to about a young Iron Age, around 300 to 100 years BC The museum illustrates the style in which the Celts once lived, their typical wooden homes, which were then uncovered and restored. There are residential houses, well, tower defense, but also mysterious sacrificial altar at bay with druid shrine. Visit of ancient village will take approximately half an hour. The museum is open only in summer from June to September from 10am to 5pm. It is located about 11 km from accommodation.

Ski resorts in Liptov

Ski park Jasna

Near Sokolik is situated Ski park Jasna, which is famous for all lovers of winter sports . It offers up to 36 km of slopes, which are divided into three levels of difficulty, so ride on snow will enjoy beginners and experienced skiers as well. You can diversify your stay with night skiing, Snowbike, paragliding, Skifox, kitewing or night sledging. The winter season usually begins in December and ends in April. With artificial snow is skiing guaranteed for five months of the year.

You can enjoy the beauty of Low Tatras nature in summer time. The main attractions include a unique summer bike park ,rental of bikes and scooters, adrenaline in rope park and beautiful view during paragliding. Ski resort of Malino Brdo

Ski resort of Malino Brdo lies above the town Ružomberok. You can get directly on the slopes by cable car from the hotel Hrabovo, where you can drive by free ski bus that runs daily from the station or by car. The ski center offers 12 kilometers of ski slopes, the longest ski lift is nearly 4 km long with elevation 700 m. Surrounding of skipark offers opportunities for cross-country skiing, alpine skiing and hiking. You can dulcify your stay with Snowtubing, where you run downhill on the rubber wheels on artificially created waves from snow. If you love adrenaline ride, you can try a drive in a special air ball which will turn a surrounding world. In summer you can try also Tarzánia rope park, located at the entrance station of the Malino Brdo. Rope park is designed for all ages to a height above 150 cm. Ružomberok Ski Park is located 25 km from accommodation.
